If you buy it new, it comes spaced out correctly already. All you need to do is work out where you want it and stick it down.

The tricky part is lining up the centre of the boot to the centre of the badge... but with a bit of trickery and cleverness with a measuring tape you can work that out easily enough. Just be aware that once stuck, even a little bit, the letters wont budge!

You would have to remove the badges, peel off the sticky backing and buy yourself some sheets of 3M self-adhesive backing. Then you can put the letters onto that, cut out the shapes and stick it wherever you like. Not sure exactly where you can buy the backing, but I'd be surprised if the likes of Staples didn't sell it.

Sounds like a nightmare, but surely if the sticky gear is on the back how are you going to line it up in one bit???

There is a removable sheet covering the front of them too ;)

Peel the backing off... position on boot... press down... remove front film.

It's no more technical than picking your nose!

i did this mod last week, i didnt know the part number, asked the dealer and he brought up a pic in the parts system, showed the spaced out leon badge on the rear, ordered it.

when i got it it wasnt spaced out correctly for the either the one i wanted to do (spaced and centred) or for the one i had already, close together, bottom right of the boot.

one of Pabs guides has a pic of the correct spacing, has all the measurements, between each letter and from the edge of the boot, looks ver good once done, ill have to get some pics up once its clean.

ill say though, i am having a few problems removing the glue form the set of decals that i removed, tried hot water and soap, nail varnish remover, the lot, still little remnants left over lol.

Found that pouring HOT (but not boiling) water down the badge then quickly apply a finger nail and you should be able to prise the badge/lettering off. :)

Perhaps also you could use a credit card, but scrape carefully!

...any glue that remains, can be removed with a little white spirit/meths. ;)

i used hot water from the tap, poured it over the badges and then used some tooth floss, slides behind and just cuts straight through the glue, popped the lot off in a few seconds.

I've just ordered some from ebay, come already spaced out for you, all you have to decide is how high you want it, and obviously how central, a spirit level may help if your a virgo like me.

I got a new Leon one off Ebay last week for £2, still in all the Seat packaging. I'm going to do mine when the car is clean & we get a bit of nice weather.......
