Hi I have posted before but did not have much of a responce maybe I did not specify very well anyway. I want to lower my Leon its a 1.6 s with 18" lcr wheels on it i now however want to lower it but dont know how much to lower it these are the options off Eibach.

Eibach Pro Kit Springs Lowering Front 30 mm Rear 20-25 mm
Sportline Spring Kit Front 45mm - 50mm Rear 30mm Drop

I would appreciate if anyone can give their view maybe tell me of another manafacturer. I only want it to llok tidy without having problems with clearance for the wheels.

Thanck You

Don't forget the koni kits - very good and come highly recommended to me, although I have an FK kit installed.

How about ride with koni springs as i have lowered 2 cars before on just springs and they where awfull. I was told that Eibach specially design their springs to go with the standard shocks therfore that is why i wanted Eibach. Anyone tell me wat is the ideal height to lower a leon just on springs on 18" wheels pleaseeeeeeeeee ? Thanck You

In the past we have had a Bora (115) on Eibach springs and OEM shocks.....was lowered and handled ok....bit floaty, but got rid of it before we could see the damage to the OEM shocks....will eventually wear them out.

on a previous Bora (150) and on my tolly at the mo we put the Eibach pro spring and dampers and the handling is sooooooo much improved with this combination. i really recommend doing both at the same time, or getting coilovers (koni, FK)

i got my kit from Awesome, their site shows it to be a 40mm drop. after they were put on it took a week or so for it to all settle, but it is excellent now, looks the muts!

with regard to putting a kit on with 18" wheels, so long as you get the appropriate rubber on it (keeping the wheel the same over all diameter with metal and rubber) you wont have a problem lowering with 18"s. the prob may arise if you put the worng profile tyres on thus making the wheel larger (albeit fractionally)...this would also knock your speedo out a bit......
45/17" and 40/18" are the profiles to keep it similar to standard

I had same on a Saxo i had it lowered on springs and thought it handled really well,i then bought some adj shocks for it and the change was unreal, the turn in was so much sharper and responsive!

Now i would never only run springs,i would defo get shocks :)
