OK, I have looked in the 'old posts' section and I am going to go for a remap on my 07 Beezer Cupra 1.9 diesel.:funk:
The question is who to use? I have looked at Stealth racing, Owen developments, Performance torque, Celtic tuning............... and basically I am just getting a little confused:blink:
Has anyone actually used any of these for a beezer cupra diesel? what was it tweaked to? if over 300lb of torque how long did your clutch last?
& one final myth I would like to know the truth about, does doing this REALLY improve the mpg?:help:

All experiences on this particular model much appreciated
Ta very
:D

when i get my Cupra Diesel, in a couple of days, its going for Revo remap at VagTech. (www.vagtech.co.uk) Im looking at 200 BHP and 300ft/lbs torque as well.

Im not sure that the fuel consumption will be improved i should think it will be a lot less due to using all the performance on offer. But one thing i am expecting is the clutch not to last as long, actually for very long, before it starts slipping. With the Revo upgrade its apparently right on the limit of the clutch. Im a litlle worried about the driveshafts too but we'll see how it goes

You wont see 200bhp from revo. To see a solid 200bhp you need sachs clutch and a exhaust system like milltek. Then get a custom map. When i had custom code I got 193 and 390nm of torque from a generaic map. But when I got all my mods done and had a full custom map from Bell Autos I got 200bhp and 450nm off the same rollers as before and also the temp was alot higher. Mine is probably running 205-210 depending on the temp.

Hi There

Your 100PD is mapped for gains of +30bhp and +70NM of torque. Power is delivered earlier in the rev-range, with no early tail offs.

All P-Torque maps are programmed to ensure no change in smoking, and no clutch slip. We can make VERY strong maps if requested, but upgraded parts are recommended for this

The special offer price for members is £275 all in, and includes a full engine diagnostics check.

Before and after power runs can also be arranged. :)

I would agree with this.

Its too easy to sell re-maps by offering higher figures.

Realisitic figures are 190 -195bhp on a standard set-up

Hi Will @ P-torque
Just read a testimonial on your site on an ibiza 160bhp who said he now averages 56 to the gallon? my standard 160 bhp cupra diesel is giving me 40 to the gallon at best and I didn't think I ragged it that much!! Will a 'standard' remap really improve my mpg that much & make the car go even more like a rocket than it does now? *Thinks, must get my arse up to Wolverhampton soon!

Hi p-torque.

Im getting an Ibiza tdi 130 soon. What BHP and Nm can you take it to WITHOUT any clutch slip? What 0-60mph times can i expect? How much does the remap cost?

You cant guarantee no clutch slip, anyone who says they can is lying. A clutch may slip when not remapped, depends on the clutch and how its driven!!

Hi Danny

On a healthy clutch +30 - 35bhp and +74NM of torque can be gained without slip.

We will only make the mapping stronger if requested by the customer.

As mentioned above though, it is very dependant on the clutch health prior to mapping. If there was some slip, we can easily adjust the map for less torque.

Our re-map for your model is £275 all in, including a diagnostics check. I have never tested the 0-60 times, although I know some members that we have already tuned have tested this.

Any other questions, please ask

The clutch's condition is very dependable upon it's specs and of course driver's usage.
For instance my remaped PD150 netted a 100Nm increase without any clutch slip so far (+70k miles). Most of similar remaped PD150's I know of start having clutch slipping issues just a few days after the remap...
The bhp gain is basically irrelevant, what basically matters for clutch slip is the torque load increase especially down low on the revs.

IMO for a "standard" remap one choice is just as good as any other...things start getting serious when you begin planning adding extra "hardware" bits and having to adjust properly the remap afterwards....
In PT you can get a decent "standard" remap for less than £200...but I guess the pricing might be a tad bit higher in the UK.
