In my cupra I upgraded my ecu for one with a re-map on but kept standard ecu also.

Now looking to put my old ecu back in then fit k03s and all the other goodies required and get a custom map for stock ecu then sell my spare remapped ecu.

However wondering if i need vag-com to do so? when i first had the remapped ecu fitted i tried without vag-com the car wouldnt start (immobiliser obviously) so I re-inserted my original ecu back in to get me to a garage with vag-com.

The car started first time, so just really wondering if i put stock ecu in it'll start straight away as before?? Only i dont have vag-com!

Thanks guys

I dont have a laptop, therefore cannot get it.

I dont want to drive to a garage, swap them over and find out you dont need vag-com.

likewise i dont want to swap them over at home and find out you do need vagcom as if it doesnt swap then i assume neither ecu will work?

hmmm... confusing! lol

The stock ecu is still programmed to your immo code therefore will still start the car.
