hola!

I've just bought myself an 03 arosa (and am very pleased), it only came with one manual key that works the locks tho', should I have gotten an electronic radio one too or is it fully functional as it is?

cheers :)

oh yeah, what does the "s" bit mean? is that short for "s...old with alloys"?

year 2001ish/2003 Seat Releised the Mk2 Seat Arosa phase1

the normal model the S model and the Sport
now the S model had a *few* differences to the normal model but not that many

2003 they relised the Mk2 Phase 2 which had hte same outside as the phase1 but the interior was a dark interior rather than light grey .
the normal car had a tape player and normal central locking with a key
the S model had remote central locking and a CD player

because your car is a 2003 it *could* be a an older phase 1 that was registered in 2003 so it wouldnt have remote central locking OR it could be one of the first phase 2's that DOES have remote central locking but somebody ( previous owner ) has lost the remote central locking key and refused to pay the something like £70 for a new key .

easiest way to tell if your cars a mk2 phase 1 or a phase 2 is by the colour of the interior

cheers for the info,

well it's got a tape player (needs changing) so I'm thinking I'll be missing the lock radio receivers too or can I just go to seat and buy a radio-key and get it coded?

I'd say it was a dark grey but I've got nothing to compare it to... I'll ask when I speak to the dealer.

right i was speaking to a good friend lee ( aka SleekyTDi ) who used to have a Mk2 phase 2 S TDI arosa and hes saying the TDi's had remote central locking mate so it seems that your cars prevous owner has lost the key . if you go to your SEAT dealer and say you would like a new remote central locking key the *should* be able to get you one

you know you have the dark grey interior when ALL the dash plastics are the same colour and not dark on the top half and then very light grey from the cubby hole along the dash down

A bit late I know but you could have checked for the Lock/Unlock button on the drivers door near the leccy window switches. That would prove if RCL or not. Cheers.
