RCL Issues

Hi all just bought my first Seat, an Ibiza 2.0 cupra sport cup 8v[B)] the other day the guy told me the Central locking wasn't working right and he'd changed the 'battery' in the fob, but no difference, so i got home, put 2 new batterys in the fob and hey presto the fob worked so i followed a reset procedure for it where you key ignt, key out hold, prss x3 and the light flashes 5x, this worked and now the alarm will activate and de-activate usuing the fob but i get nothing with the door locks? using the key each will open except the drivers door:wtf:, and all will lock inc the drivers door:think:, there is a pulsing noise form the boot section when you unlock the passenger door, the petrol cap is perm unlocked(metal section forced back). Does anyone have any ideas before i begin to butcher the motor :)

Help, time and advice greatly appreciated

Have to say that's the same problem I'm having with mine! Never been bothered to actually get around to looking and fixing the problem. I always had the thought it was the fuel flap motor causing the issue, but again never really looked into it enough to sort it out.

I'd also be interested to know what and how this is resolved if anyone else knows?

Oh and welcome along!

I would have thought that too originally but it's been 'taken out the equation, unless i need to now bend it back into place for the whole system to work again??? Mus be someone whos had this problem and sorted it out these motors(VAG) are infamous for it

mine was exactly the same, the problem is the pump that controls the central locking, the noise would indicate theres a air leak somewhere from it so it keeps trying the recharge but cant because of the leak.

On the right hand side in the boot under the carpet you will find the pump, trace the lines while trying the central locking and hopefully you will find the leak, mine was for the pipe going to the fuel cap, so as i had no money for a new one and couldnt be arsed, i took it off and stuck a screw in the end so now all my locking works except for the fuel cap thats always unlocked but il live with that :)

Hope this helps!

Ok sorry it's been a while, i did the above and the lines were all ok, so i took the door card off and there was a leak in the "cup's" they were not fitting together tightly allowing some air to escape, so i lookd at the options

1. remove and replace(not looking good to limited knowledge and very limited space)
2. try and fix(i took this option)

what i did was remove 1 half of the cup and smear it with silicon, then refit it and cover the outer casing edges with silicon also, waited 24 hours and Hey Presto fully operational RCL. They Fob issues were due to the previous guy fitting only 1 battery so that was an easy fix. Thought i update incase anyone was following hoping for the answers and results sorry it's not more of a technical fix but easy is as easy does and it worked for me...
