I have googled this and only came up with a post on a GTI forum saying you needed to swap pins around, and that it was for the nav systems, (it also appeared to be for a mk5 golf).. I didnt really find anything on here bar some instructions for when a RNS nav unit is fitted.

I have a RDC310 boggo standard radio at the moment in my 12MY leon, I also have the normal rear only parking sensors.

I have a genuine VCDS lead, so I thought I would give it ago, and low and behold I now have the visual parking aid on my RCD310!

So you need to:

- Module 10 Park/Steer Assist
- Function 16 Security Access
- Move the cursor over the "Enter security access key" field and it will display a key number, type it in and press "Do it!"
- Module 07 Coding
- Press "Long coding helper"
- Select Byte 0 and mark Bit 4 "Optical Ilustration active", then exit and accept the coding

Then go into the radio module (56)
-07 - long coding
Make sure that Optical parking via CAN is selected on the relevant Byte, then exit and accept the coding,

Job done!

If anyone around the Nottingham / Derby area wants this doing or anything else tweaking with VCDS let me know,

Great job.

I am after a new OE look radio for my pre face lift, is it possible to fit this? Bearing in mind I am not a real techie :)

Cheers

Once you have coded it if you swap radios to a RNS or RCD510 unit the full picture comes up with the back end of the leon without any extra coding, fitted my RNS 315 today and straight away a full colour picture was on the screen in reverse.
