rattly head 1.4s

My Ibiza 1.4 has started to rattle for about 1 min after start-up and was wondering if this was a common problem? My husband gave it an oil change at the weekend and it made no difference. He used 10w40 semi-synth.
If you stop the car and then restart a few mins later when its still warm the rattle is present again until you drive a few hundred meters.

Any idea's?

Its the hydraulic camshaft followers not retaining the oil after engine shut down. You've nothing to worry about untill it constantly does it (rattles) whereby all the followers will need changing.

Is this a simple job?
My husband has a bit of knowledge on working on cars (he has an s13 200sx and that always needs fixing ) perhaps I could get him to get his spanners out!

Its a camshaft 'off' job.

fairly easy job to do as theres loads of room to work.

like I say if its just doing it on startup its just an annoyance more than anything else

My 1.4 did this, try flushing the engine then changing the oil, cured mine
