Rattling sound from near the rear mirror when driving

Has anyone else got or had this?

I may be a bit off with the source or location as I’m still investigating.

I’m getting a crackly, persistent rattling from the rear mirror area (I think).

Squeezing and pressing the surrounding trim doesn’t seem to cure it.

I’m just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences before I start unclipping trim.

Take a passenger out with you who can attempt to track down the source of the unwanted noise while you concentrate on the driving. Quite often, these unwanted noise sources are quite deceptive and the noise is often coming from a completely different location to where you think it is. A passenger is better able to move around in the car and apply pressure to various suspected trim parts while the car’s being driven than the driver is.

Alternatively, if you have a named driver (or drivers) on your insurance, get them to drive while you try and track down the noise.

Good luck - I hope you find it as these unwanted noises can be extremely annoying.
