Hey peeps hope someone may have a wee bit of assistance here-am getting a bit of a rattle under idle coming from the back of the exhaust it seems, but when giving a light rev it disappears.Could it be an exhaust mounting?Dropped my mate off after Knockie, then drove half a mile to my place when it started.Cheers for any assistance.

Yes, there is an exhaust mount that goes quite often, I've had it fail an MOT and have to get a quick spot of weld on it. I've seen others post the same thing on here.

The exhaust mount CupraUK is on about is probably the centre one. Standard cheap and nasty part built down to a cost which eventually rusts through and breaks off exhaust. Try moving tip of exhaust from side to side (when cold) to see if you get the same noise or get car up on ramps and have a look. On a side note had my back box replaced under warranty after 'technician' found a broken bracket during its last service, wasn't causing a rattle was just causing tip of exhaust to point a little upwards.

Well the car's gonna get looked at while in for the 30000 service and mot(which is a month or so early but thought I'd get it done at the same time)quoted £119 for the service and mot-then whatever else after that I dont know-but cant fault a price like that.
