random full volume/display corruption

Hi all, long time reader, n00b poster and mate of fellow SC members Speedsix and Havok316. At the weekend i swapped my ibiza 1.6 in and got me a silver Cupra. A problem i'm having is that randomly the volume will turn full. Also noticed that on turning off ignition the head unit display corrupts as though all imaginable text that it displays flashes at the same time. THe problem is intermittent which leads me to think that the wiring could be iffy but any ideas much appreciated as its a tad distracting having the volume at 100% all of a sudden.
Guess it could be a job for the SEAT dealer to look at while they have a look at the rear washer pissing water into the boot lol

Try searching for the fix for the rear washer, its basically the pipe for the water has come off the connecter to the washer /sprayer, a jubilee clip and you should be sorted.

As for the radio, hell knows!

Bump this again as have found the fault but just like to ask if anyone knows the price of getting a new SEAT stereo unit or if they can repair them (ie will they fob me off with buying a new unit when it could be repaired by Grundig). Tested it at the weekend and the fault stayed with the unit when swapped to my mates Cupra.

did you just swap the fasica or the complete deck as the problem is more than likely to be with the actually guts of the unit rather than the face, also worth pointing out that there are two different models of the unit, combining different fasicas with different guts can cause problems, ask philw, think it naffed his temp sensor?

Once the head unit starts playing up on any of the intergrated units its a new unit, some Ibiza's in the past have known to be tempermental.

yeah we swapped the whole unit to his cupra, obviously tried every possible combo before that but the fault stayed with the main unit. I guessed there are a handful of different units as my previous 1.6 had the unit changed on previous owner and the mpg display didnt function at all.
Guess i'll be phoning SEAT this morning for a price.
