On my way to work this morning the petrol light came on then about 30 seconds letter the car conks out. I thought crap i'm out of fuel so rings a mate and he comes down with a can full of optimax. Trys startin the car again.... it wont start. Ticksover but wont ignite. Tryed for ages but still no joy. Been towed to my local garage as the AA guy didnt know what the problem was. Hes says there is fuel goin through now but its not igniting. Any ideas?..................

If fuel is going through bu tnot igniting, its not the fuel pump. Can you definitely check fuel is getting through. If it is, then i would suggest something on the ignition side. Check for spark is first thing i wld try.

It could be spark plugs but unlikely. Not too sure on the specifics of ur car as never worked on one but I would firstly check that you are getting a spark at each plug and if not, trace back til u find out what isn't working. Leads, dizzy, coil, etc etc
