Rainwater in pollen filter

Good Morning everyone.

I have found that rainwater is starting to collect around the pollen filter of my car. It looks as though the access cover has warped and is letting rainwater in.

I am told by a bodyworks specialist that this is a known fault, but that SEAT (and dealers) are keeping it quiet and that there is no recall to remedy the fault. As a result, this problem is not covered by any warranty, and I've been quoted approx £300 to have it fixed.

Does anyone else know of this fault?
Does anyone have any hints or tips to get it fixed properly, but cheaper?

Thanks for your time and help.

Yes this is a common fault and you will find plenty of threads on the forum if you do a search about this.

The top cover for the pollen filter is a bit awkward to fit back in.You must make sure the rubber sides are on the outside of the filter box so rainwater runs off it into the bulkhead to drain away instead of into the filter box.

There is also some instances where some owners have had to put some sealant around the filter box itself to stop leakage into the car.

Do a search and you will find plenty info on this subject.

Best way would be to check at a local SEAT dealer on the price of a new one. If not, a bit of sealant may be your only other option

Original message: I had used the rainwater pollen filter. I think its functionality is amazing. Thank you for such a great post.

i agree i simply took mine out gave it a dust down and re inserted it with the seal being better in place, the other part that makes a difference is the plastic type strip that goes in just before the filter.
