Radio Keys

Hi can someone tell me what radio keys i need to use to get the standard radio out of my leon

i've seen some "european" keys in halfords are they the ones? dont want to stick a key in the hole that could get jammed in.

hehe - getting a new radio already? you've only had the car a week!

(having said that, i've got a new stereo for mine and it (the leon) hasnt even been delivered yet.....!)

i've read several posts on this already - either in this forum or in http://www.icecavern.com/

your cheapest bet is to cut an two strips from an old credit card or store loyalty card (or a CD) to widths that are just narrower than the holes in the stereo. push them in and out she pops....!

what at are you changing the stereo to?

I got some radio keys last night and a audioleads amps kit. hmmm can you tell where this is leading. lol. I ordered the facia plate and leads before the car arrived. Im sticking my Kenwood MP3 player and Muitichanger in and pre installing the phono leads for later.

Has anyone actually done a "How To" for such a job yet?

done it now, took me an hour to installed the head unit, check the glove box for space to hold my changer, was a little messy so i decided to go for the boot option, ran the cd cable and phone lead for the amp to the boot. JD

Need to switch climate control units, so need to get the radio out to get the dash facia off.

Typically I'm stuck step 1 need to get my radio out, I've cut my credit card, and when pushing it in, it either pings off a bit of metal and then keeps pushing in.

Or it does catch a bit of metal after a few cms but no matter how hard I push the radio doesn't pop out.

Any advice?

EDIT>> Actually, sorted it out, I realised I wasn't performing a sufficient level of F'ing and Blinding. A bit more force and some colourful language it came out fine. Think a previous owner may have bent the release catches a bit funny as its not going back in easy at the mo, Think I need to plier a few metal bits back into place!
