Radiator/heatsink thing under car what is it?

SEAT Leon TDI 130 SE 2005

On the drivers side floor section about were the drivers seat is above it.
under the car theres a Radiator/heatsink alloy thing
Any idea what it is and what its for?

fuel cooler for the fuel return line, could melt plastic tank other wise , does get quite hot

I remember some of PRC's posts on his modded 130 -- he logged fuel temps in the return line to the tank and they were over 90 celsius in some cases!

IIRC he added an extra fuel cooler into the delivery line and got some benefits.
