R8 oil filler cap

hi won a R8 oil filler cap off ebay hoping to fit to my frtdi but one guy who sells them says they need to be modified ? does anyone know if they need to be modified and if so whats the modification

Iirc the ones on ebay come ready - modified. They would be upside down if you put it straight on, so they modifiy it to fit and be the right way up

just so you know the part looks kinda out of place in our engine bays, as it will make the rest of the engine look extra **** lol

i won the cap as R8 for £15 so i dont know if modifed i wondered what they do to modify if it needs to be

Why ?

Just turn it 180 before fitting & when twisted it'll be right, mine works that way

Do you have a link of the r8 cap you won which was already modified?

I thought they all fitted right it was just the coolant symbol would be upside down?
