I am looking at replacing my coil packs to the red R8 (NGK R8 U5014)

Some questions -

Do they really help with misfiring?

Do I really need an adapter to fit them?

Thanks

Hello there!
It was the first mod that i've done with my car as i bought it with bad coils , so i decided why not spend the extra money which you won't probably regret and see where it takes me and i didn't regret it at all, my misfiring problems went away instantly, but because they are considerably bigger than the original coils,at least twice the size in my opinion you really do need the adapter or else half of the coil would be hanging out , although the adapter looks kinda cool in red so your dressing up your engine bay! Only issue i had is that some hoses above the coils that screw onto a hole there, because of the new height adjustment i couldn't really screw it but maybe i did something wrong so that's something you maybe should look out for

Thanks for the reply! Do you need to re-pin the connectors or do anything to the connectors?

Hi there, yes the connectors do need rewiring. There is a guide on the Sirocco forums for the 1.4 tsi. I will try to find you a link.
