as the title....

A friend is thinking of up grading his R32 brakes to RS6 brakes. was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of anyone putting R32 brakes on an Ibiza or if anyone would have a clue of whats needed.

im quessing that the golf mk4 has the same style steering knuckle as the ibiza and it would be a case of swaping the discs and calipers over and then bleeding the system but im not sure would be a great modification tho!

Front end gets very heavy, I tried this, way way too big, wheels need to be 18's minimum!

well the guy that owns the R32 said he 'thought' they should fit behind 17's. im not overly panicing anyway, it was just a random idea as his brakes would be lying in his shed.

i would have thought they would fit behind 17's. My old brakes were Brembos with 328mm discs on cupra 17's. Thought the R32 had 230mm discs, but with smaller caliper. would be close but should go.

the calipers dont stick out towards the wheel as much at brembos or set sport ones, it was yours i was thinking of ant when i said about cupra wheels being ok

Would be a nice upgrade.... Id be concerned that they wouldnt fit with your wheels Max.

but if they are just sitting in his shed Im sure you could try before you buy.

hopefully by next winter ill have saved enough coppers to buy 17's for the **** weather, so i'd have 17's all year round.

Its lenny in the new shape R32 filling my head with idea's.

the brakes on a 32 are 345mm with twin piston calipers , they should bolt straight on as the hubs for 4wd 312mm are the same for the R32s , it will be heavy , the pads and discs are uber expensive YOU WILL need 18s ,

and ifyou jump on them id say the car will flip, i can see your viewpoint max , but 312s on standard wheels- even 16s are grand ,
