sis's dab 1.9 tdi 100bhp is due its 1st service, and i have a quick question.

gonna get local garage to do the service, now my question is, do the filters etc have to be SEAT, or can they be approved parts, as mechanic says?

thanks

are you actually going to the local SEAT sealer or just a loal garage because if its anything like the quote i got for a service, then they will sting you in the pocket! Id prob go for performance parts, they seem to be a bit cheaper than SEAT products :D eehhh!

no, it wont be goign to seat mate, customer of mine is the mechanic, and he said he'd do it, he said i think it was partco(?) and they were approved parts i think. just wanna check before he does it.

or would i be better just buying the filters from seat?

Always better to use approved parts. It will keep up the value of the car. It would also help with warranty claims should one of the parts be involved in a claim.

I dont suppose approved filters etc. cost much more than others.

anyone know where i can find out which brands are approved by seat?

if its just tha diesel filter need sdoing, i might as well get that from seat themselves for the sake of a few quid. would the millers pd oil be ok to use?

Stick OE parts as that maintains warranty. As long as he is VAT registered that will also keep your warranty and price of the car up. I can't imagine the cost of pattern parts is much less than OE with things like sump plugs etc
