Driving back form Bristol today, accelerating onto dual carriage way...

Very loud whoosh then loose power goes into limp. Been fine all day otherwise.

Restart and turbo working but losing all boost, then goes into limp again.

Classic symptoms of a pipe coming adrift somewhere.

A quick look in the dark with the torch and cant see anything front side of the engine.

Turbo outlet pipe?

Any ideas - will have a good look tomorrow.

Sounds like a pipe to me - that turbo pushes a lot of air, so is potentially a weak link, Are you running much of the standard vRS intercooler pipework? I'm no longer doing so, and all my hoses are attached with BFO clips. Nothing's going to blow them apart. ;)

The only standard stuff left is the upper plastic intercooler pipe that connects to the Allard Race Pipe. The rest is a Forge/Allard hyrbrid.

I cant see anything at all and I couldn't get the car on a ramp to get to the turbo outlet at the weekend so its going in Wednesday.

I'm really hoping thats all it is! :(

Turbo outlet hose had come off so a fairly easy fix - although the mechanic reckons the silicone boost pipe that Allard put on is too short so not helping the situation.

Great I thought after preparing myself for a big bill, it going to be a lot cheaper than i thought!

Then they told me about the lower arm bushes and anti roll bar bushes that need replacing on top of the s70k service bill... lol.

Well, at least it was an easy fix - and it's best to do those bushes. My console bushes need doing as I'm sure are totally split - my handling is a fair bit wooly at the moment. Good thing is I'm doing the cupra bushes, and the limited slip diff at the same time. :D Should be a great chalk and cheese comparison. :D
