Hi All, 1 question for you all. Is a remap the simplest way for a quick bhp gain? What do i do & how do i go about it? Hope this makes sense
1 read up on here
2 call the chosen company
3 say "i want to remap my car"
4 agree time day etc
5 turn up on said agreed day
6 wait for a surprisingly short amount of time / surprisingly long amount of time dependant on tuner / software choice
7 pays your money
8 drive
9 try to stop smiling
revo 5hr test is a sure fire way of seeing what your car can do, without having to pay anything!
The trial isn't as "aggressive" as the real map - meaning the real map may even be a bit better/quicker still!
Wonder if I could have some opinions from you guys? I was gonna get a REVO re-map after I got exhaust done (what’s diff between cat back and turbo back while I’m here) however I live about 3mins away from Jabba Sport who also do re-maps, who’s re-map is better or what I’m asking is what’s the diff between them both, have done a search (hence this thread) and found a few things about comparisons but can u believe nothing between REVO and Jabba; is it worth the extra drive to go to REVO? Or should I stick with local so if anything goes wrong I can just pop in? To be honest I really would like to form a good bond with a tuner and with Jabba this would be a lot easier, but what’s gonna get me the best for my car/money?
Thanks guys, (sorry for long post)
well the basics are that there are two differnt types of remap.
generic and "custom"
now, generic is usually a bit cheaper and will be quick as its a pre set/saved remap that just needs loading onto the ecu. job done
"custom" remaps are adjusted to your individual car, and therefore if you have other mods a "custom" map can take advantage of this.
i use quotation marks as they are mostly* generic remaps that are adjusted to suit any differnces on your car.
*in my humble opinon
some remaps are put no the car and thats it, you run with the remap all the time.
while some will have the ability to switch them on and off. eg by plugging a module in or even using cruise control buttons if you have this.
some even have the option to adjust its settings, eg boost level / timing etc. all of course at extra cost for these options - and usually a considerable amount...
Cheers Steve, was thinking the same thing at back of mind, just reading the quote below thoe, and is jabba and REVO on the same sorta par? are they both generic codes? i have not found a single person with a Jabba remap in their signature, (sorry just lied, only found ppl with Skodas and Ibizas) does any Leon drivers have one?
But surely there is still the issue of how the remap delivers it's power and that needs to be taken into consideration?
Been looking at the Forge (IPro) ................ Anyone had one of these remaps on a derv? cant find any recommendations or otherwise for them on here!
To the OP, ive read nothing but good stuff regarding the Jabba maps!
