questions on ibiza mk4 cupra (petrol)

hi there
im a stranger to this forum but currently considering downsizing to a ibiza cupra mk4 (petrol) as my next car, just a few questions if you guys wouldnt mind answering them for me

whats the handling like?
whats the relability like?
also, due to knackered ankle tendoms i have to choose cars with light pedals or else they play me up, is the clutch and accelerator light? the brakes nice and responsive?

All pedals are very light mate and the brakes are awsome (AP Racing 4 pot's).

Reliability as just what you would expect from any VAG car, good.

Handling is good as standard, but with a few choice mods it is awsome.

Handling- Pretty damn good, add some spacers and coileys and its phenomenal

Power- Remap and you'll horse most things, including Golf GTI's

Very rare, Dont see many of em about, only ever seen three other Cupras,and two of em were at a meet!

Pedals are all very light, and the AP brakes go from 70- stop in scary fast time!

whats the relability of the turbos like?
im driving an astra gsi turbo at the moment and they generally last 50-70k (depending on how treated) which is a little daunting.
also, what sort of power are you looking at generaly with just a cat back exhaust, induction mods and quick remap?

The turbo's are quite strong mate. People running 100+k on standard turbo.

Cat back exhaust dont give much bhp as its the down pipe that is the restrictive part. But I'd say with a cat back, Forge TIP and Forge DV pluss a open cone filter with a good map you should see 210-220bhp.

Yea the turbos are very reliable as you would expect from a VAG car. Mine has just ticked over 30,000 miles.

everything on the Ibiza is good and high standard...only real downfall is road noise and some minor rattles over rough terrain and slightly restricted legroom in the rear (if you're a tall driver)

if you prefer more comfort then look at possibly the mk2 Leon FR's, similar power output to the Ibiza Cupra's and slightly better build quality overall as they're based on the Golf platform

i never buy cars with consideration of passengers legroom unless you have children whats the point even though there small so dont need much.

how can the leon have better build quality being built on the golf platform when the ibiza is built on the polo platform there both vws so surely there both as quality as each other its just the practicality that differs.

with regards to the Golf platform i was referring to the comfort side and not the build quality (as this is down to SEAT mostly), but it is true that the Ibiza interior build quality has never been as good as the Leon however it is getting closer each time

I think the build quality and comfort is better in the Leons - better plastics and better fitting parts (dash etc.). It's part of why the Leons/Golfs are more expensive than the Ibizas/Polos
