I have some questions about the MAF.
-What is the LCR MAF part number (and does it sit in a 3" housing, and connects to a regular Leon)?
-Are there other MAFs (RS4/S4/Tdi) that I could use in a 3" housing that can cope with over 270hp? That also fits the wire/connector physically and electric? And preferably gives out similar signals as a S3 MAF so I don't have to remap?
I think maybe the RS4 MAF is in a 3" housing, but I don't know if it has the same connector and gives out the same signals as a S3 MAF.
Background:
I use a 3" MAF from S3 on my Leon, bought in may and installed with bigger turbo.. The first one lastet quit long, but it startet to fail and became dead (always reads 0,06-8, and fault: "air mass sensor dignal to low").
I bought a new one (Didn't get it on warranty because they wanted to check it in the car wich was supposed to be original and not chipped and use other air filter).
The new one lasted just a couple of days, but this one died very suddenly on a track day. I had full throttle, and decreased it a little bit, and then almost all the pressure/power was gone, and I got a fault code with some limit exceeded and the MAF fault code. So the new MAF was dead as well.
I find this weird, because the S3 MAF should cope with this much air as it's about the same power as a revod LCR / S3 / TT225. If it's my filters fault, it is weird that it just suddenly dies completely and not just gives out wrong values.
Any idea why this has happend twice (and suddenly), or if something else could be wrong?
I tried to just hook up my old small MAF, and this gives out values, so it shouldn't just a wiring fault.
Some car specs:
Leon Sport 20VT (180hp APP engine)
Turbodynamics Hybrid K04 Turbo
S3/TT 225 MAF (3" - part no: 06A 906 461 E, Bosch part: 0986280211090)
250-260++ hp
