So met up with a friend today. He's got a 2015 DSG Cupra 280, I have an early 2017 290 Manual. We were playing about with the settings and when he put his into cupra mode the revs went up to around 1200rpm, I tried the same and mine were solid at around 800rpm. I've never seen this before and he's adamant his car isn't remapped. Is this something my car is supposed to do?

Yes, when you put the car into Cupra Mode with DSG Gearbox it changes the DSG into Sports mode which has a higher tick-over speed than when in normal mode. It also changes the suspension settings and steering weight from memory and you will find that the gearbox holds the gear to a much higher rev limit. You also have a manual setup (cant recall the name) where you can set all the various settings to your own preferences.

Individual mode. Or you can just put the gearbox is Sport mode if you want everything else to remain in the settings they’re already in, but want the gearbox to hold gears and rev higher etc.
