lighter isnt always faster, traction is far more important

there are lots of factors to consider when aiming for a good quarter mile time, traction from the line , get some good tyres that are sticky i.e some toyo proxies or if you can run to it some proxie semi slicks r888s.

also weight is a key factor take everything easy to remove out of the car ie seats, spare wheel, jack

Take out
- rear seats
- spare tyre
- window washer fluid
- any junk in the car
- drop front tyre pressure
- increase rear tyre pressure
- fold in wing mirrors
- remove window wipers

It all makes a difference!

Theres always been this debate that times between Santapod and Crail/York are different.

Santapod is really hard to get traction down cos the surface is all gluey, I dont know if Crail or York 1/4 mile tracks are the same?

Still, Is a very good time regardless

Yip all of Simons list is all done except the wing mirror. I got a set of R888's for 1/4 too although they didn't make any difference to the traction off the line only in second gear tbh.

Crail is dry tarmac laid down pre WW2 so it's not the best, but after years of abuse and blown gear boxes/diffs etc it's pretty slipply some times. Could really do with some of that anti skid stuff that would really improve times of the line although it would lead to more deads transmissions

i found shakespeare county raceway's surface much grippier than pod's. 16 psi in 205/55/16's and a second gear burnout, i could launch with no wheelspin! class!:D
