Quantum Platinum 5w40 oil replaced?

Hi All, I've been using quantum platinum 5w40 oil in my 2.0 TSI (BWA) for about three years now and I needed another 5L cube for topping up, but it seems it's been replaced - does anyone know if the platinum plus is just a direct replacement?
