hi guys,
Ive had hesitation and what felt like misfires when accelerating and its annoyed me since ive had the car, ive spent way too much money trying to chase it down and could never find the problem. today i found the cause of the hesitation its been this bloody valve all along. I took it off today to check it out, its a genuine audi part and when you blow through it its unrestricted, if you cover 1 port and blow through air comes from the little square hole, I cut a small bit of plastic and superglued it over the hole and took the car for a drive... holy **** what a difference, the hesitation is gone all through the rev range, i havent felt the car like this since i got it, thinking it could just be a wierd coincidence i let the car cool down and then took it for a 20 mile drive and its a whole new car feel.
whats the deal with the small square hole in the body of the PRV? its obviously not supposed to leak air from it if the diaphram inside it fine, so why is it even there in the first place? the picture below is from another genuine audi part took from google images.
(I have another thread open about the coil loom as i am still getting some slight misfires at idle, but it seems its only at idle now and the hesitation when driving wasnt misfires.)
