panel, - pro, cheaper than inducation.

induction, pro is that in theory its less restrictive, but con is that it will take air from under the bonnet which is hotter.

IMO do the panel, no that you will see much difference.

Induction kit makes a nice noise and looks good to halfords crew! If you have an open cone induction kit, it will suck the warm air out of your engine bay and put it through the engine. I dont know if you've noticed but my car certainly seems pokier when it's colder.....

There's a reason why car's don't have induction kits as standard - the colder the air the better. So I'd go and have gone for an upgraded panel filter.

Especially if you have a turbo (as I'm guessing you have posting in the tdi section) - colder air will be better for the turbo. :)

i think induction kits done proper might be the pro , , heatsheild ram air etc,

but you can do this with a panel filter ( cheaper than induction kit ) , smooth the airbox (Free) cold air feed not much

you wont get half as near to noise as the induction , which i think fools you into thinkin its much faster

as said cons , cost more , can suck all the hot air etc

panel , looks standard much more freeflowing than std , and cheaper

depends how much u wana blow , believe the carbonios spose to be good , has long pipe , to take away from engine etc,

provide u have decent shielding from heat , plenty of cold airfeed it would gain power , but to compare against a panel im not sure,

some of the big boys on here went for panel filters apos to induction , hence why i went for panel, these guys have researched into these things for a long time ,

up to you really , if u bought one and wanted the other u could always sell on im sure people would snap the panel filter up no probs
