Right been into German since I past my test 7 years ago had plenty boras and golfs mk2/3/4 I never really looked into seats in general untill a tdi come up for grabs cheap
I think put fr bumpers on full milltek turbo back r32 seats bs ch wheels and coilovers etc
Although the exhaust was pointless as it was a 5 speed 110 I absolutely loved it.

I then bought a cheap Cupra from a friend pre facelift and got the itch to modify it with it being my first 180hp 6 speed car I was impressed with the power and the gears and spent far to much on bumpers etc...

Then decided I needed a tdi so picked one up off a friend a FR tdi Leon 2005 in grey again amazing car to drive fast and high mpg it's a win all around in my books decided to stick a set of r32 seats in changed the turbo and it was a joy to drive...

Then managed to find a set of half leather r32 seats so went and picked them up and swapped them over

Then sold the fr as I had an itch for petrol again a Toledo 1.8t come up cheap and I have always loved how discreet they are with the same running gear as a Cupra.and most importantly as it was a Toledo and standard it hadnt been thrashed around like some Leon's no gear crunch etc didn't go crazy with it.now owned by someone on this forum funnily enough.

Then sold that bought a Bora sold that bought another Toledo 1.8t

Which kinda leads me to where I am now...
Owned an s3 last year and loved how it drove always wanted k04 but didn't like how dated it looked or that it had 4x4
Even though it was facelift I don't like the 8Lshape to much which left me wanting either a mk1 TT or a Cupra r After realising the TT wouldn't be much different to the s3 and going on how much I love the Leon's I searched and found a mk1 Cupra r in October 2015 also in my favourite colour grey and with 51k on the clock!! I put a deposit down before even viewing and went against my rule of not buying from a garage and then waited 4 weeks to pick it up due to needing another pay day to afford to buy it etc they put a new Cambelt and pump on and so on 15-11-2015 I booked 4 days off went and collected the car! I had already built up a fairly good relationship with the car garage I bought it from due to various emails asking for history and any issues etc so when I arrived I was genuinely happy with buying from a garage which is a first for me always usually private buys as I had waited 4 Weeks to collect from when I put a deposit down I decided to do something I had always wanted to and that was to start buying parts for the car prior to collecting so I can get it up to scratch sharpish and after owning a few 1.8ts it's fair to say they do need a fair bit of uprating engine wise in my opinion to get the full potential.
So It started with a cheap second hand milltek backbox being won on eBay for £87 then I thought sod it I'll buy the 3" decat down pipe and middle from milltek to match so I don't have to wish about getting the exhaust done for months on end so that arrived.....

Then got a piper cross filter as in my opinion is the best option regarding air intake.along with a forge 008 pollen filter CD player with usb and radio facia adapter

Also had a set of r32 wipers and arms from a previous car

Bulbs just to smarten up the back end

Then needed a new set of blades as the ones I had were rubbish

And rather than using a rubber bung used the proper glass bung at a cost of £18! But was worth it in my opinion much smoother look obviously and flush

Wanted to update the pipes to silicone to bought a badger5 tip and forge upper boost pipes

Then thought I would try some crackle paint...

Also fitted a forge quick shift and poly dog bone I picked up cheap..

Gearbox feels amazing to be honest.

Then bought some clay and what a transformation it made...paint is like glass now really happy

Then after looking at a few guides I done the n249 delete and have trial tested it unplugged with no issues so that's how it's staying
For now

Please bare in mind I collected the car standard on 14th of November and it's now the 29th and I work 60 hours a week so all the jobs have been done fairly quickly:) also booked in for a stage 2 map with AMD next Saturday as that's the only time I have off.also fitted a set of new plugs yesterday but no photos to show.
Over all I'm amazed by the car at 51k I thought it may have teething problems from being sat covering just 12k in the last 3 years but it really is a pleasure to drive before and after all the upgrades. I know I could have bought one modified but I want this to stay with me a few years and wanted to do everything right that I done maybe wrong on previous cars so that's why I'm spending more than I would on the mods and buying new bits rather than second hand etc
I have probably missed bits out and I have missed out about 15 other cars I have owned and modded in this time but I can't be asked uploading them all :) done this readers ride almost for my own story really to look back on for as long as I'm a user of this website.cheers guys :)

Haha I have seen yours buddy coming along nicely.theres some reasons why I justified a Cupra r basically they look amazing in my opinion no one really see the facination of a Toledo when I owned one although I loved it.i also wanted to start ahead of the basics so with the Cupra r having cast iron wishbones different arb set up brembo brakes k04 as standard etc it was a no brainer for me.after owning a s3 8L I didn't want to upgrade everything in a lower spec car to get to where a car could be bought as standard if that makes sense the Cupra r is the highest model of its shape so nothing to upgrade from factory now after owning 3 weeks this Friday it's going to have gone from standard to stage 2 and that's just a start in my quest for potentially hybrid next year.hope that kinda makes sense.yes they are more common but looked after versions perhaps not so common compared to the ragged high milers with worn out interior and crunchy gearboxes I still see much more mk2/3 cupras than mk1 Cupra rs around my way.

After realising the n249 should say electronically connected I did just that and made sure all pipes were tight and secure just need to take inlet manifold off and paint black as well as the washer bottle and maybe coolant bottle.i like it all black and red

I really liked the stealth looking 1.8t bay colours and don't want to go crazy with shiney engine parts so trying to keep it black and red going to order black coolant cap and washer cap
