Problems with my stereo/electrics.

Hi all,
Im having some massive problems with my mk3 seat ibiza. The stereo has randomly decided now just to emmit a high pitch squeel every now and again. The car is also a little like herbie, turns the radio on randomly in the middle of the night and runs the battery down. It also switches itself off as it wishes. I havent done anything to stop it yet appart from remove the fuse, but saddly this dissables the whole central console. Any ideas plaes? And how easy is it to pll out the center console so i can have a look behind? Cheers for any help.

Welcome to SCN mate! Im in a similar situation in that my stereo will illuminate with no keys in the ignition (also having to remove the fuse over night). I haven't heard of the high pitch noise tho? I took the fascia off my stereo today to have a quick poke and jiggle, i unplugged and plugged back in what i could and all seems ok so far (fingers crossed!!) Its easy to remove with 2xscrews underneath the fascia and it pries it off as its held on by clips, starting at the bottom, but dont pull it too far away as there's a ribbon cable attaching it. If you want to have a look behind the stereo it fairly obvious what to do when looking at it, just unscrew the 4 corners and it slides out. Hope this is some help. Its also worth doing a 'search' on this, its been covered before.
