problems with milltek

anyone else on here had any problems with the quality of milltek i recieved mine friday and it was packed poorly the ends of the pipes showling, and when i opened it the middle silencer was badly dented in about 5-6 places and there was denting on the pipe work. the back box had weld splatter everywhere and all over the tailpipes too and the brackets only had a tack welds where they joined each other. I paid a huge amount for this exhaust and downpipe is this the type of qualaity i should expect from milltek or was this a friday afternoon job

thats a shame id certainly be getting in touch with supplier,milltek are normally very good i used to deal with them regular.

ive just got my downpipe direct from milltek and the quality is very good bit of weld splatter on some bits! at work we get falcon exhuasts ( part of milltek) for all the triumphs and range rovers and i showed few people the quality of the milltek and they said its 10 times better than the falcon ones we sell! it might have been the couier that inflicted the dent

dents in the silencers arent really anything to worry about, unless they are truely awfull like someone has smacked it with a hammer, i wouldnt bother...and theres nowt wrong with using tack welds for the hangers etc..

weld splatter...well did u want them to poilsh it up for u or something...is it really gonna bother u?

my system is of very high quality, it wasnt clean and 'tidy' looking and had a few knocks here and there...but its performance is excellent, and fits very well besides knocking on the rear axel ecause of ride height..

Well call me picky but i cant see why they didnt blank the tail pipes up to stop the splatter and the dents are big enough yeah. big enough with scores in it too. no i dont mind a bit of weld splatter where it cant be seen but on the tailpipes itll show on the car.

ohright u meant on the tail pipes...(sorry i missed that originally and assumed u meant on the system)..these werent covered when u recieved it then? mine were...well if u aint happy then yeah tell em u aint happy but your probably gonna have to work through who ever you bought it from

it certainly doesnt sound like normal service

as a comparison I dont see any of this on Jetex supplied systems...

Miltek should produce something equivalent or get a rep for poor quality gear

Im not a real picky person i appriciate its welded well on downpipewell but it was poor packing poor weld on the rest. annoyed cos i wanted to fit it before i went back to iraq but it was a three week delivery last time and im off end of aug and atm im off for three weeks so perfect timing but ho hum what will be will be

The weld on my milek are a bit untidy but who cares.

not moaning about the weld quality its the dents and splatter on my end tips which will be in full view

Fully agree with you, who care's if you cant see it you've bought a new product and it should be in a new state. Welding spatter on the tail pipes would annoy the hell out of me to the point I'd send the system back!!
