Problems with key

Hi All,

I'm having problems with my key - after working for a while the red light stops coming on and it stops working when I press it. I then have to seperate the key and upon reassembly it's fine (for a few days). I've changed the battery already as this was my first thought.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like the contacts need cleaning in the remote? The process of opening and reassembling it is disturbing the contacts enough for it to work temporarily.

Thanks - how do you suggest i go about cleaning the contacts?

Take it back apart, and scrape (not cut!) the edge of the contacts with a stanley knife or something sharp. Not too much, you're just looking to make the contacts a bit shinier than they are. If I remember rightly they only touch the battery in a tiny area, so you should see where you need to scrape. There should be one on the face for the positive, and one on the edge for the negative?
