My carbonio CAI and 007 Forge DV arrived this morning and i am just back from the garage.....with only the CAI fitted!

The mechanic who worked on my car said that he could not fit the DV as there was no pipes etc in the box and it didnt simply replace the standard DV.

From the impression i got from awesome gti and other members - im sure that the 007p should fit straight onto the pipes etc from the standard one

Hes told me to go and buy the pipes and then he will fit it, but im convinced hes mistaken!

Can anyone shed some light on this issue please??

hes mistake, it definately works fine as long as you have new jubilee clips. he must be thinking of actually making a new location for one when its already on the turbo intake pipe.

the guy who worked on ur car is a muppet!

the standard DV and forge DV are the same size... fit it urself its easy... there are 3 pipes... one from turbo charge pipe, one from the TIP and the vacuum pipe...

just look at the standard DV, take it out and fit the Forge urself... very self explanatory!

im not good with engines AT ALL, so i think ill pass on tryna do it myself!

hes a good friend so does it all on the side for me (fitted CAI for 20 quid and sed he wudnt charge extra wen i took it back for DV)

ill pop back in tomorrow morning with the car and get him to fit it - might take a printed copy of the DV instal guide from leoncupra.co.uk for him to see

i think you are right - im sure from what he was showing me that he was planning on putting the DV in a whole new location because he was showing me it was goign to be fitted onto a completely different area than where the standard one is!

hehe - yeh, its a piece of cake - so if you really need to take a copy of my guide, or just a couple of the photos to show where it goes.

Sounds like he is a bit of a muppet though - its virtually identical in shape to the original!

so basically the 3 pipes that come out of standard one go straight into new one??

i sent you an email from your webpage aswell pabs, never knew you were on the cupra forums

is it possible to fit it without having any jubilee clips??

i doubt he will have any but im sure he will have other clips lying around seeing as its a car garage!!

the original jubilees are single use ones, any garage or halfords sell jubinees, you could take the dv in with you and trial fit them, two are roughly the same size and one is a lot smaller from memory 2x 22-33mm and as I said one that is a lot smaller, in fact a cable tie pulled tight may do the job.

If he couldn't do it first time around then I wouldn't bother using him do it yourself. It really is very, very easy. As Brendy says go to halfords first for the jubilee clip - I think they do a selection box of assorted sizes so you should be covered for every eventuality.
The two things to watch out for are getting the single use clip on the top (vacuum) pipe and pulling it away from the two larger hoses.

what do people recommend between the bailey's dv30 and the forge 007? and are there any differences between them. i've done a search but nothing really on differences if any.

also, what spring is recommended for stage 1 revo???:

Green - 5-15 PSI

Yellow - 15-23 PSI

Blue - 23-30 PSI

Red - 30 + PSI

hey guys, cheers for all the help

just to shed some light - the mechanic is a trainer ex mercedes benz head mechanic for central scotland - and i doubt he gets many Mercedes customers asking for DVs:lol:

Told him that all of you say it should fit straight on and he said he wasnt aware i wanted the old one replaced and that he thot i wanted the new 1 fitted on a seperate part of the pipe!

that is why he said he needed more parts!

im taking it back 1st thing (hes round d corner) and hes going to sort it out, said it would take him minutes

Cheers:clap:

he does sound like abit of a muppet, and not much of a friend if he charged 20quid just to fit an induction kit

if you want something done right, do it yourself. its easy when you know how

got it all sorted this morning - sounds awesome, but dont think the forge added much to the noise - i thot it would

all the noise is being made by the carbionio induction kit! (sounds like darth vader)

i wouldnt feel right not paying him, so i would rather he took 20 quid than not take anything at all

its a CAI, so lil more work involved than fitting a normal induction kit
