Hey all first off i dnt know if this is the right section for it but i got a few parts from the stealers which were cupra rear bumper guides, and adapters. two days later got the bumpers fitted and realised that these parts wern't needed, so got on the blower to the stealers who couldn't talk to me as they were doing a stock take, how convenient!

Called back on a monday and was told i could not get a refund on the parts as they were ordered specifically for me, however he would have a word with his manager and call me back. waited a few days and still no phone call, called them today and the manager isnt in until friday but he did speak to and the manager refused the refund.

Reason being part numbers were used to place the order! so the question was asked "if i did not actually say or qoute the part numbers to you i coud get a refund is that correct?" but got no direct reply to my question.

Where do i go from here??

any help appreciated

thanks in advanced.

I think you'll struggle to be honest, if the parts were ordered in specifically for you then most dealers will be unlikely to take them back. After all they may not have another customer who'll want those parts for years and so they'll just sit on the shelf! Sorry been there myself!

agreed ^^

ive worked as a parts advisor for 8 year for seat and vw

any parts under £10 cost price they will not be able to send back to there factory and obv they will not want these parts on there stock as its not a common part..

usually if you take things higher these things can be resolved but it depends on the dealership..

I would say that unless you ordered a specific part number and they ordered the wrong one or you told them that you wanted X part for Y car then they are not obliged to take them back. I am quite friendly with my local Skoda service manager and she won't order any part unless she is 100% sure that the details are correct.

Well following the advice of taking things higher ive been in touch with the head office but the managers are unavailable until monday, so i will be waiting until then to see what they say, and ive also been told by head office to speak to the service manager at the dealership first to discuss the matter with him and see if he will provide a refund as a gesture of good will.
