My fuelgauge isn't working properly. If car is 'cool', stood and cooled down over night, it usually works at first. But even then usually after 10-15min drive the needle drops to zero, and at the same time the car computer can't anymore show how much I can get with the diesel I have left in the tank.

Also computer's temperature is not always working, often only "--" is on the screen. It starts to drop down from the real temperature and finally show's only "--,-- C". I don't now if these two problems are connected, they don't usually happen at the same time.

AND some times, also all the other gauges (except speed and rev's) join the rebellion. This happes very rarely, maybe twice, when the fuel gauge is a everyday thing. The other gauges either work oky, or won't even work from the start and first time it happened they woke up during drive.

FIRST thing wronfg with my Seat during 25 000 miles and 10 months.. Annoying. Very so..

Any suggestions were to start lookig for a problem? I'm already mentally preparing myself to buying a new gauges.. won't be cheap trick..

If it's still under warranty, it definitely sounds like an issue for the dealer to resolve.

Otherwise, first port of call would be to use vag-com and see what (if any) fault codes are stored. It may be the instrument cluster, or maybe a wiring issue elsewhere.

Have you got climatronic fitted ? If so, does the outside temperature still work on there while the temp display in the dash stops working ?

No warranty..otherwise it would already be at dealers  .
Manual a/c so no help from there. Vag-com is on the to-do-list till next week. First enquiry to dealer and they said it sounds like might have change to whole gauge panel/dials. And same answer came from a autoelectrics shop, but they said they'll take look. We'll see..

I`ve just a similar fault with the temperature guage and I was fortunate that I had 5 days of warranty remaining! The bad news is its probably going to mean a dash pod change. The days of individual guages are gone. The part retails at £268.34! You will also require the keys re-programming.
Unlike you , I`ve not been too impressed with my 130tdi`s reliability. Within 29K I`ve had a rear seat fixed,CV boot, tailgate strut, dash pod and both rear brake discs+pads changed (the latter at my expense). I hope your solution is a happy one!

Well..the info I've gotten so far..solution won't be cheap. I know there's really no free lunch's in life, but do they have to cost 300 £..It'll probably add up to a lot more here in Finland..:censored: :censored: :censored:
