problem help???

first of all happy easter dont eat to many eggs here we go some times when i turn right the steering will go heavy like the power steering cuts out and it will try and pull the steering wheel back to the left as well but this is only sometimes it doing my head in. and some times when i'm pulling out parking space the belt will squeek as well any idea's ????

Its prob just the belt slipping when your turning tighten it up and it should solve the problem.

as the man above said, check belt tension, and condition. have someone turn the wheel when its running and take a look at it, watch them fingers . if its not slipping then it could be the early signs of pump fail

wonder if you got air in the system aswell.

pump fail ouch is it easy job?? never done 1?? its got mot in 2 weeks would they fail it if it plays up whilst they test it???

no, power steering isnt part of the test IIRC

unless the power steering pump explodes and spills steering fluid all over the engine, testing bay and the MOT tester, blinding him for the rest of his life, the wife leaves him because he was a different person since loosing his sight and she couldnt cope, takes his house, his car and the kids then marries an accountant, then they cant fail it.

this might sound stupid but does it only do it in the wet? when water gets onto the belt it seems to get tight and try n snatch back as if the power steering cuts out, ive never seen anyone mention it on here myself but it happens in my ibiza and used to happen in my 16v cordoba

My cupra does this as well & i'm missing the cover on the bottom of the belt so water gets in & the belt slips when you load it up.

mine did the same, new belt + tightened stopped it, but my powersteering pump makes alot of noise, so will get another one soon

will be that water is getting onto your belt then mate, you might be missing the cover also? if not just be careful when raining! lol
