i have been waiting for a seat ibiza FR to come into a garage for a couple of weeks now and have been watching the price. it was £8295.. i showed an interest and am going to look at this weekend. i just checked the seat site tonight to show my gf the car and it has shot up £700 !! over night... i phoned the dealer and said this was bang out or order and he told me the website people got the price wrong.. do they have to honour the price or am i hoping for too much ? i did say that the extra £700 put it out of my range unless they can up my part exchange... i am waitng for a call back..fingers crossed they lower their price back.if not then its bye and i start looking again.

i am a bit annoyed as it was a very good car for the money.[:@]

cheers

thats still a good deal you got yourself. anything under 20,000 miles is well acceptable as these engines last forever !!!

I agree with Luke C's first comment. I had the same trouble with Ford, many moons ago, when the car was so long being made, it went up several times. I told the dealer I would only leave the order if my P/X went up correspondingly. I got my car, but lived to regret it :-(

If i was you i would go see the car and if you like it offer the orig price and see what happens. You must be prepared to walk away though.

What was wrong with it? What wasn't?!!!! It must have been a rush job, in order to get it built within the FIVE MONTHS, with me chasing them. Problems included brakes (several sets of discs and pads), clutch, tracking, cracked exhaust manifold, burnt-out wiring, oil leaks, wheel bearings and others!
Mind you, that was many years ago; nowadays, we'd reject it out of hand! Just out of interest - it was a Mk2 Escort Sport, which I really fancied going by the spec. - nothing compared to today's though.

Yep, I got my FR TDi from a SEAT Dealer Just over Two weeks ago on a 56 Plate with 20,800 miles for £8245.

I checked Parkers Price Guide before making an offer and they said with £30,000 Miles it was worth £8,900!

I'm very...very happy with my FR

Quite often is simply the car on the day. If you look at one which looks well kept and "feels right" it can be worth paying a little more, if you can afford it.

I ve bought a couple of second hand cars at top price and have been rewarded with a good car. You prob need to look a few to know a good un ;)

Did that include signal colour paintwork and down right loud seat trim colour?

I always take the line that if you are trading in a car, its only the change over cost that is significant - all the rest is meaningless really.
