Faster. I have never used a p/washer bad news.A tip for when you are next in
cardealer looking for a 1-2 year old car ...1. look how dull the alloys loook
2.look for water damage around lights. most people use drive in car wash
and powerwasher.Just look what people do with soap brush after they have finished and most places only use the cheap soaps.
I use a PW everyday to
help me wash and clean cars, and so far (touch wood) I've never had the probs you mention, however I do know what you mean, and would like to try and clarify a little more.
Pressure washers in garages are very high pressure and high flow, these are like using a water knife, great for moving muck but the muck is moving over the paint at very very high speed and will cause damage. Cheap low pressure and low flow (sub 400lt per hour) will do the same but a lot slower so not as noticeable until time had past.
However if a lower pressure one is used which has high flow (500lt ph +) then you actually allow the muck to wash off rather than blast off. All the same I still don't allow the nozzle within 18" of paintwork so water fan is even softer.
With my washer I can put my bare hand 6" in front of the nozzle and although can feel the flow I'm safe, but do not try that with a garage one or you will be visiting the local A&E hospital as it'll cut right through you hand, trust me I've seen some idiot try it and not a nice sight.
As to where to get a PW, they seem to be available in more and more places, most DIY stores hold them, car
store and of course on-line.
