Pre-outs on Standard stereo ???????

How do i connect a AMP to the standard seat stereo?? has it got outputs on ??

if not, how do you change the stereo as iv heard you have to put it under the stearing wheel or in the glove box ?????

you can get a high level converter.

i.e the converter has inputs for a speaker wire.. it converts it to RCA jack which you can use to get a signal to the amp

Will this be the same signal strength as the normal outputs??

i want to connect 1 x 2600w and 1 x 500w amp, the amps are bridgable so im not worried about that bit, its just the amp to stereo bit

you can buy a converter that converts the high level outputs to RCA

It just amplifies it the same as it would on a Sony or a kenwood HU etc ...

Its the amp doing all the work now, the HU is just sending the signals for the tunes, my front/back speakers (which have been replaced with better ones) run on one amp and my sub (which im fitting at the weekend) will be running off another amp

You just dont get all the options that you would get on a better head unit, so all the tinkering has to be done on the amp to get the best sound

will keep you informed on how the boot build goes at the weekend when i fet my subs

you take the rear speaker outputs, and solder them onto the converter, then this gives you an RCA out, which can go to an amp

Just to add it wont work as well as an aftermarket head unit! But is a good solution if you just want to keep the standard HU.

The amp only amplifies the signal from the head unit, so an aftermarket head unit with hi voltage outputs would be much better

hasnt anyone tried one of these from autoleads pc3-11 6 pin iso pre outs to rca sockets all it does is plug into the back of the radio and you get rca connectors from your radio, got one from work the other day not fitted it yet but im sure i remember there being a place for it to plug in at the back of the radio when i took it out afew months back

I have fitted a standard head unit under the steering wheel on mine, not to good at all the electrical stuff but managed to wire it up from the standard pluds and join a power lead to the original system. Got head unit and aircon system working that way.

here you go here's a link to the first picture i found but you can get them from halfords as well but they need to order them BUT dont buy one just yet as i havent fitted mine so im not a 100% if it will work but i will try it next week and ill post if its worked or not but im confident it will

Sorry mate not had the chance yet i had a black hackni taxi hit my car on sunday night and drive off parked outside my girlfriends but what he failed to relise is that he's on cctv camera, only thing is i only got the side of the taxi but he has signage on the side of the cab saying GUTTED and the england flag and theres not many cabs with that on where he picked up out side yates bar so im going to try and view there cctv today because if i leave it to the police ill never catch him
