So I've replaced all my speakers in my Seat Ibiza 2000 TDI 110hp sports edition with the console with a big screen instead of a traditional HU. (all standart from Seat)

My Config:
Front: HSL comp set @75wrms
Rear: 9X6 90wrms

since the original radio couldn't cope with these power speakers (HU is only 4X12wrms) I needed more power. Another Head Unit was not an option.

So I run seperate speaker wires to the booth of the car for the speakers. I disconected the original standard ISO plug from the radio (whick lead to the OEM speakers)

Then I bought a 'naked' ISO speaker plug for my Seat (ask your local car audio dealer)

Then I bought 2 hi level speaker to low level RCA convertors to transfer the speaker level signal to an RCA output.

I've bought the types from Monacor. The are the highes quality. They have a switch on delay circuit. (so no sub woofer thom-thomb) and a sort of noise surpressor integrated sos the sound is very good.

So I soldered the convertors to the naked ISO plug, and plugged it into my HU, than ran double shielded cinck cables to the amps, and so on....

I'm using two Maystar High > Low level converters to run my amps and i don't have any interference or thumps when the stereo is turned on or off... Think there about £15 each...

I'm running two Alpine V12 amps, both bought 2 years old. The larger one which powers the sub does have a delay now you mention it, but the smaller one which powers the components upfront comes on instantly.

Perhaps i've been lucky with the set-up that i've got....

As i said before i don't get any interference, but its still not as good as having a proper head unit with a decent line out voltage...
