this prob has been asked a million times and prob should be a sticky!, but..

i've got a pre-facelift (94), lowered with 17's (this is how i bought it) but i'm guessin the arches aren't rolled enough cos when i got people in the back and hit a bump it hits the tyres. anything i can do other than change wheels?

Yeah, I used to get fouling with 195/45 R16 tyres with people in the back.

With it now lowered by 40mm and with 15mm spacers each side, I get occasional fouling with 185/55 R15 tyres if I go over a big bump. Given the overall rusty state of my car, I'm tempted to have a go with the angle grinder ;)

Seat realised this problem and for the facelift model the arches were rolled - hence the standard 195/45 R16 tyres on the 16v.

my 95 was on 194/45 r16 and if i took a bend too quick, the body roll would cause a slight rub on the rear arch, never had issues with people in the back though
