what i mean is, the outer diamater of the gromet

or is it already fitted, with nothing going thro it at the moment?

cos I'm giong to need to remove the wipers and some panelling to get at it, dont want to have to driev to b&q with half the car removed :)

no need to remove any wipers, I've not even bothered with a grommet. Just remove glove box and you'll see the wire trying to poke throught the firewall. There was no grommet installed on my car.

It was hard to get the 0awg throught both grommets but with some practice, but if you're using smaller wire then electrical tape a stiff wire on the end of the power wire and poke that through first.

I just pull that black plastic bit back and feed the wire through.

ah, your gromet, is it below/behind the glove cpt?

ive seen a description of one that is just below the bottom of the windscreen, behind the 'scuttle panel' ?

(is this your one below?)

No trying to uplaod a picture but photbucket or my works internet is slow. This picture is to the right hand side of the engine bay near the orange bit for the bonnet holder

Then from behind the glove box you can drop it down here and tie it to the frame with cable ties.

Best place is the boot for air circulation

It's behind the glove box. you have to take out the internal part of the glove box to access it. poke a coat hanger through, it wall have to break the firewall, if you take off the little panel that off near to the single vent then you should see the coat hanger. Will take a photo later, will need something to get the panel off.

It in the picture it's closer to 2. It's the white metal bit with the black grommet not the top of the suspension, Lift up the black trim to help you push it through.

The nut in my first picture is just next to where you have circuled, its what should be that disc type thing.

I belive the number 1 is more for the leon than the ibiza

I've edited your picture but photobucket is still playing up.

If you look on the left hand side of the engine bay you will see the release cable for the bonnet. Its the same hole to look for but on the right hand side.

inside the glove cptmt i see a few torx screws in there, and also the airbag on/off

can the torx be ondone to remove bits of the glove panel safely, without interfering/setting the air off?

If you know any electrians or where a electrical wholesalers is just ask for a small bit of strip grommet, you gut it to the size you need and fit it, your understand what i mean if/when you see it!
