So, if that is now a hard logged fault that you can not clear, then that now must be a problem, I'm guessing that that G250 is the sensor on the steering column lower end, and not the steering angle sensor that in your car with electro-hydraulic power steering, does nothing but control the front fogs as additional lighting when turning at slow speeds.

Other thing, as that sensor would also have been used with the previous pump(s) has this fault been logged in the past, if not, maybe check the connections on the pump/controller as no doubt you will have replaced the complete combo, and maybe damaged a connector or this newer pump assembly has a wiring fault or a coding difference to the original pump assembly. What I'm getting at is, if you just went out and got hold of another sensor you might fix it if this has always been the original problem but missed earlier - if not then maybe you will just be throwing more good money away, I appreciate that bad times means getting stuck in, but only in the right way.

Edit:- have you tried actually reading data from the power steering, as in steering sensor output when moving the steering wheel from side to side?

Hello, I refitted my pump again and its working again and have left it and it still works at the moment in time but i did this before and i left it a few hours and it stopped working again which is why i believe its not the pump only because its happened twice to two different pumps, fitted works until you leave it a few hours... its almost like the battery but I fitted a different battery and made no difference, i also cant read the values because vag come isnt connecting to the car its saying short to ground - intermittent...

edit- It works for now lmao, I did take it for a good run earlier and just now to keep the battery topped up instead of stop start...

Good, so far so good!
I actually got a question if you might know, so you know the groundings of the vehicle, well when it’s running and I put everything on it pulls like 50-60 amps on the earths to the body in the engine bay. The battery is in the back and the negative is connected to the body but there was only like 20 amps running through that earth. Is that normal for there to be much a amp difference from the engine bay to the back where the battery is

One reason maybe logically would be that you are not seeing the alternator's contribution at the rear mounted battery - does that make any sense, the battery by itself could never supply the current that system needs at peak demands, which is why that system gets disabled if the battery is weak.

Yeah it makes sense, it seems to be working with the original pump... so weird. I just wish I could connect with vag com but it just says short to ground intermittent

Well 9 days later it’s decided to play up again... no idea where to go from here
