Power steering pump

Hi after some more knowledge on this, my power steerings on way out squealing like mad goes stiff sometimes wen turning, im wanting to know can i get a pump off any mk2 to fit? My cars a 16v gti 98 model, only reason i was asking was coz i found this site, the same pump is used on several cars, if so il just go to a scrappy n get one, off one of the cars on the list.

if its sqealing and going stiff it sounds like the belt is shot causing it to looses power, that might be why your steerings going heavy

I got new belt put on wen i had cambelt done 500 mile ago, fluid level is correct, its gotta b steering pump or steering rack.

did your steerings going heavy while turnning before you changed the belts because my has done it a few times now and i was hoping a new belt might sort it

but if its not i may aswell do the pump at the same time

Thats defo your pump id be warey of buying a second hand one. Be a fecker to put it on and find out it does the same as your old one!

I think il buy a new one just to be on safe side, how easy is it to remove and fit a new one?
