power steering pump

hi,i've been a lurker for a month or so after getting a 2002 black 20vt cupra 180 62000 miles.the car is really good to drive apart from a few problems.

1st problem-power steering pump-mine vibrates and is very noisy on near full lock,i have had golfs in the past and most of the p/s pumps were a bit noisy but never vibrated.is this a common fault on the leon.
forgot to add, there is no leak and the level is ok.

2nd problem-wheel bearings-when i test drove the car i pointed out ther was a w/b problem only to be fobbed off with the road wheel noise gag,so back it went and after my moaning they changed the passenger front, noise is still there.i took it back again today to try and get the other side done.what else should i be looking out for?they said it could be a noisy gearbox, cant see it myself as the whirring noise is constant in gear and coasting in neutral from 30 to 60,becoming noisier at around 30-45.

3rd problem-warped brake discs, are they common on the leons.the discs look like they are the originals are very lippy and noisy when braking(could be linked to the w/b problem)also squeaky -chirp chirp chirp noise when slowing down.

4th problem-boost leak-when i got the car it was quick and the turbo was quiet, now the power has died off a bit and it sounds like more of an air leak when the power is on.i could be used to the cars power now but the air leak noise is still there.i run vag com at least once a week but it shows nothing, but then again i'm only a novice on it.is there any way of checking for boost leak with vag com.

any advice please.

Few problems then mate?
Power steering pumps will usually make a noise, especially on full lock because thats where its at its most "stretched", just keep an eye on it, if it get heavy one way and not the other or becomes heavy then light and so on then get it checked!

Wheels Bearings are a bit of a niggle with Leons they go pretty often, rear are pretty expensive, but fronts ain't too bad to get done! Check the boots are ok, that could be causing them to go a bit too often!

Brake discs shouldn't really warp unless theve been abused a bit, normal driving breaks don't really warp, just change them, Badger Bill can hook you up, decent discs and some DS2500 pads!

Boost leak would show up on vagcom - usually, but just listen, get a mate to rev the engine and you just look and listen for the leak!

are the rear bearings easy to do and are they the same style as mk 2/3 golf taper bearings.is it better to get gen vag parts.
