Power steering problem

Yesterday on my way out, coming off the drive I noticed the steering was very heavy (like there was no assistance), but I thought it may have been due to the car sitting for a few days not moving, as once the car warmed up it was alright.

But drove the car again just earlier, noticed the Power steering light was on on the dash, and when going around tight 90deg corners the steering went heavy again. Also when manoeuvring from where I had parked it was heavy.

Sooo, do you think its low PS fluid? There was no beep from the dash warning me so.

Or have I f00ked something up? which I can only think was when I was out having some fun on the 23rd(in the snow), went to do a reverse donut and as I started off, there was a weird noise like a motor spinning very quickly, so stopped, turned engine off then on again and it was fine, steering was fine after that too and on the 24th it was fine and on boxing day (last time I used the car before yesterday). so mega confused

Minor(ish) things could be the fluid.. or weak battery in the cold? You will need to physically check to be sure.

Failing that see if there are any fault codes logged for the steering assistance controller and get it checked out.

Well its intermittent as Ive been out twice this evening, no light on. Steering seems a little heavier (although could be my imagination) but its deffo harder at full lock

Will get some fluid tomorrow and have a lookie
