Power steering alarm on dash on my 2011 Seat Ibiza 1.6 diesel (intermittent)

Hoping to get some advice please. My car is showing, (intermittently) the hydraulic power steering alarm (yellow) and then disabling the power steering. I had the RAC out to look at it and they ran some diagnostics which showed codes for the power steering module. Does anyone know of any issues with this or any fixes? Trying to get into a garage at the moment to get it looked at, but many away on holiday, hoping this forum could help steer me (hahaha) - any idea of likely problem and cost? - am in the UK.

What were the codes? Any other codes for the car? I'm unfamiliar with PAS problems but I do know that a dying battery can cause all sorts of electrical issues - these would usually get flagged up with a scan. How old is the battery / how many miles has the car done?

Had a quick look on ebay and there are plenty of 2nd hand electric / hydraulic PAS pumps for sale for not a lot of £. Is the control module built into the pump? Hopefully someone will more knowledge will chip in.

Yup, making sure the battery was in good health and getting re-charged okay would be my first thing to check - mainly if the battery and/or charging was weak, then this would happen at cold start and when the car was then the steering input was high at tick over, but would clear if the car was then restarted.

The charge warning light should come on with only the "ignition" on, then when the engine started it should go out and stay out - but it MUST come on with only the "ignition" on before engine start.

1 Test battery
2 Charging system
3 If none of the above its most likely a bad pump or steering angle sensor (less common)
