power increase?

how much power increase will an cat back exhaust give me?

and if i get one should i get an induction kit to match the air in and exhaust out of the engine if you get what i mean

It should give you a little bit of extra power, but how much depends on your car and the spec the exhaust is built to (pipe diameter, size & number of mufflers etc). There's probably quite a lot of placebo too, with the extra noise.

It would make sense to improve the induction while you're there. As far as I'm aware, the preferred method is a drilled airbox (do a search and you'll find a how-to) with an aftermarket panel filter.

I have de-cat on mine and that has seemed to make a big difference. Engine feels alot more 'free'. Only downside is that its very loud!

It does pop flames though!..................Oh well i will grow up one day!
 
You'll probably see about 1 or 2bhp with a smooth airbox, panel filter and cat back exhaust system.

De-cat may increase that further by another couple bhp, but you do lose low down torque (not that the 16v Ibzia has much anyway!)

air filters arent all they cracked up to be, iv got an aston martin k+n on mine, also got the magnex cat bk then de cat!!! i think it made a noticible difference! but does depend on car.
