Hi everyone!
Been talking to a few of the mk3 boys and they seem to be using these "Power Gaskets" which basically prevent so much warm air going into the engine via the inlet manifold.
As the inlet manifold goes over the top of the engine you could imagine how warm the air going into the engine could get. (Unless I'm talking crap here)
But that's the way I'm looking at it.
I was sent the link to the web site and had a look to see if they do anything for the 2.0 16v ABF engine but all I saw was 1.8T and 2.0 8v. So emailed them asking if they did the gasket for this engine and they replied back to me saying that there isn't much of a market for this engine so they don't produce one.
If I was to send them a standard gasket they will make a copy but for $150 as I only want one
So thought if anyone else would fancy these gaskets then we could get a group buy going, I just want some numbers for now so I could reply back to the company saying we got a few people interested.
Here's the link to the site so you can have a look yourselves http://www.newsouthperformance.com/gasket.htm
They do work as my mate has done a few logs on Vag Com before he fitted the gasket and then after fitment and the difference in the temperature of the air going into the engine decreased. Even when the car is left to idle for a long period of time the temperatures don't increase.
