Hi everyone!
I own a Seat Leon FR 184 (DSG) 2.0 TDI, which I’ve had for nearly five years without any major issues—until about four months ago.
Initially, the problem seemed to be resolved (at least partially), but unfortunately, it has now returned.
While driving, the car would intermittently lose power, with the RPM needle dropping to zero before suddenly spiking back up. This would persist throughout the journey but would disappear after the car was switched off and left for a few hours.
After taking it to my mechanic, a diagnostic scan pointed to a faulty microswitch in the DSG, which was replaced. The problem seemed to be resolved—until recently, when it returned, this time more severe.
I have another appointment with my mechanic tomorrow, but I’m skeptical that the microswitch was the root cause. Otherwise, the issue wouldn’t have resurfaced.
Has anyone experienced similar problems and managed to find a fix?
For reference, I’ve followed all standard maintenance guidelines, including regular oil changes (every 40k miles or earlier). The car currently has 90k miles on the clock.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Symptoms:
The first sign of trouble was a rough idle, where the engine seemed to "skip a beat."While driving, the car would intermittently lose power, with the RPM needle dropping to zero before suddenly spiking back up. This would persist throughout the journey but would disappear after the car was switched off and left for a few hours.

Current Issues:
- The car runs fine when cold—no power loss or cutouts.
- Once warm, the engine cuts out at low revs.
- Power loss occurs intermittently while driving (only when warm).
